Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 July 2026

ClipCast ("we", "us", "our") provides a service that helps podcasters turn long-form video episodes into short clips for social media. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: email address, and billing details processed via Stripe (we do not store your card details directly).

YouTube data: when you connect your YouTube channel, we access, with your permission, your channel information and an OAuth token that allows us to upload videos on your behalf. We request the minimum scopes needed: uploading video content and reading basic channel information.

Content you provide: podcast episode URLs you submit, and the video content downloaded and processed to generate clips.

Usage data: information about how you use ClipCast, such as episodes submitted and clips generated, used for billing and service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Information

To transcribe your podcast episodes and generate clip suggestions.

To render and publish approved clips to your connected YouTube channel, only when you initiate that action.

To manage your subscription and billing via Stripe.

To communicate with you about your account or service updates.

3. Third-Party Services and Sharing of Google User Data

We use the following third-party services to provide ClipCast's functionality. We share data with each solely as needed to perform its specific function for us, and for no other purpose:

AssemblyAI — receives audio extracted from your YouTube episodes, to transcribe it into text.

Shotstack — receives downloaded video content from your YouTube episodes, to render short clips.

Anthropic (Claude) — receives transcript text (not video or audio) to generate clip titles and descriptions.

Google / YouTube — receives the rendered clip video, uploaded to your own connected channel, only when you explicitly approve and initiate publishing.

Stripe — receives billing information necessary to process your subscription payment.

Supabase — stores your account and application data securely.

We do not sell, rent, or transfer Google user data to any other party, and we never use it for advertising, creditworthiness, or to train AI/ML models. We do not permit any human to read Google user data except where necessary for security, legal compliance, or with your explicit consent.

ClipCast's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@clipcast.uk.

5. Revoking Access

You can disconnect your YouTube account from ClipCast at any time, either within the app or via your Google Account's third-party access settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions). This immediately revokes ClipCast's ability to access your YouTube data.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage and access controls limiting who can view sensitive information such as authentication tokens.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.
